33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies In Crash On Sunset Point Road

CLEARWATER, FL — A 33-year-old motorcyclist has died after being taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert following a crash Saturday at Sunset Point Road and World Parkway.

According to Clearwater police, the accident occurred at 4:14 p.m., shutting down both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of Sunset Point Road.

Witnesses at the scene said the motorcyclist was speeding and ran a red light at the intersection, causing the crash.

Police did not release the motorcyclist's name.
