Nature’s Food Patch Announces Free Cooking Classes in Clearwater

Nature's Food Patch welcomes new chefs Meg Dixon, Registered Dietician and Michelle Odiorne, Plant-Based Chef. Classes begin December 3.

From Nature’s Food Patch: Nature’s Food Patch welcomes new chefs Meg Dixon, Registered Dietician and Michelle Odiorne, Plant-Based Chef. The two will be teaching free cooking classes this holiday season in NFP’s PaTcHwOrKs Community Room.

Meg Dixon is a registered dietician, new to the Tampa Bay Area from Texas. She’s the local food blogger behind the popular Instagram account, @root_for_food. As a passionate advocate for health, she promotes whole foods and proper nutrition through recipes that are easy, nourishing and delicious. Her first cooking class is Sunday, December 4th at 6:30pm, where she will teach attendees how to make a hearty and healthy Butternut Squash Kale Hash with Fried Egg. Those in attendance can expect a full demonstration and an opportunity to taste her creation.

Michelle Odiorne is a plant-based cook and avid organic gardener. Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, as a teenager she developed her love for cooking watching her father prepare meals for his family and fellow firefighters. She is an ambassador for PlantPure Nation which premiered the documentary PlantPure Nation in 2015. Odiorne was also recently featured on the podcast Conversations with Lee Fulkerson, writer and director of the acclaimed documentary film Forks over Knives and writer of PlantPure Nation. Her first class is a lesson in batch cooking, Vegan Stuffed Squash with Quinoa, on Saturday, December 10th at 11am.
