Police Put Painted Pig In Pokey, Search For Owners
The critter was found Monday morning along Lombardy Drive.

The Clearwater Police Department spends a lot of time trying to reunite missing dogs and cats with their families, but it’s not every day they have the opportunity to do the same for a pig.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Police came across a female porker Monday on Lombardy Drive and are now searching for its owner. Officers say the pig seems very likely to be someone’s lost pet since she was found with faded pink painted toenails and seems to have an affinity for dog treats.

A photo of the critter was posted on the agency’s Facebook page along with a callout to whoever the owner might be.
“She was on the lam and we were chasing bacon this morning,” the post explained.

How long it took officers to corral the little runaway remains unclear. She was, however, safely removed from the road and is now in the hands of the SPCA for safekeeping.
Anyone who knows who the pig belongs to is asked to contact the SPCA at 727-586-3591.
