Parking Lot Reopened At Seminole Boat Ramp; Improvements Continue
The city of Clearwater has finished the first phase of construction on the Seminole Street Boat Ramp and North Marina improvements project.
CLEARWATER, FL — The city of Clearwater has finished the first phase of construction on the Seminole Street Boat Ramp and North Marina improvements project and has reopened the parking lot at the boat ramp.
Patrons will be required to pay for parking at the lot. The parking rate for regular vehicles is $2 per hour with no time limit, and the parking rate for trucks/trailers is $10 per day with a time limit of 72 hours.
In addition, the Garden Avenue Garage is open for public parking at 28 N. Garden Ave. in Clearwater.

Construction on the boat ramp and marina improvements project began March 26 and is anticipated to be complete by early 2020.
The city's intention is to keep the boat ramp open during normal hours of operation. However, the number of functioning launch ramps may be limited or could all be closed intermittently throughout the project.

The project is part of the North Marina Area Master Plan process, which includes:
- New landscaping
- New lighting
- New permanent restrooms
- New trail extension through the marina to the waterfront park
- New floating docks
- New kayak launch area
- Two new parking areas
- Upgrades to the existing parking lot that include stormwater improvements
- Enhanced public walkways
- Additional public benches
- Additional green space
- Improved park area at the end of Seminole Street
"It's a major commitment and improvement to the Old Bay and North Clearwater communities," said Michael Delk, the city's Planning and Development Department director. "It's already having a positive impact on the property values in that area."
