Pettibone Super As Threshers Win Fifth In A Row

Brandon Tripp leads offense in a 9-3 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers.

The Clearwater Threshers keep on rolling, winning their fifth in a row and ninth in their last 11, defeating the Lakeland Flying Tigers 9-3 Monday (Aug. 29).

The 6'5" right-hander would last only two and a third innings giving up eight earned runs on three hits, however he walked four Threshers and hit another three.

Jonathan Pettibone had another outstanding pitching performance. The Yorba Linda, Calif. native limited the Flying Tigers to one earned on two hits.

It was Pettibone's 10th win of the season in 25 starts and his ERA dropped to 2.94.

On Deck: The Threshers will travel to Brevard County for a doubleheader on Tuesday and single game on Wednesday before beginning their crucial four games with Dunedin to close out the regular season.

The first three games of the series against the D-Jays will be played at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium with the finale at Bright House Field on Sunday (Sept. 4).
