Phillies Open Spring Training With a Game Against the Yankees
The teams from the 2009 World Series face each other in the Phillies Spring Training home opener.
The beasts of the east are at it again.
Although cross town Spring Training rivals, the two teams also met in the 2009 World Series. The Yankees ultimately won the championship that season.
And this is not the first time the National League East Phillies and the American League East New York Yankees face each other for Spring Training.
The teams kicked off the Grape Fruit League schedule with a game played Saturday in Tampa. The Phillies won 5-4 at Steinbrenner Field.

The Yankees will send Ivan Nova to the mound. Prospect Jesus Montero will be his battery mate behind the plate today.
The Phillies send Joe Blanton to start the game. Justin De Fratus, Michael Schwimmer, Ryan Madson, J.C. Romero and Brad Lidge are also scheduled to pitch.
