Pinellas County Constitutional Officers Sworn Into Office
Three Pinellas County constitutional officers were sworn in during a ceremony Tuesday, Jan. 5.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Three Pinellas County constitutional officers were sworn in during a ceremony Tuesday, Jan. 5. The event took place at the Historic Pinellas County Courthouse located at 324 South Fort Harrison Ave. in Clearwater.
Ken Burke, clerk of the circuit court and comptroller, Mike Twitty, property appraiser, and Julie Marcus, supervisor of elections, took the oath of office during the ceremony.
Pinellas County Tax Collector Charles W. Thomas was sworn in during a separate ceremony Jan. 5 on the second floor of the North County Tax Collector branch office at 29399 U.S. 19 North in Clearwater, marking his second term in office.

The Tax Collector's office has five locations throughout Pinellas County, providing driver's license, motor vehicle registration and property tax services to residents.
Coronavirus safety precautions were taken at both ceremonies with all in attendance using masks and social distancing.

Constitutional officers provide critical services for the residents of Pinellas County. As established by the Florida Constitution, they are elected every four years to serve at the will of the people.
