Pinellas County Government: 62nd Avenue To Close For Utilities Project

Crews are installing a 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer force main in front of Northside Christian School in St. Petersburg.

Pinellas County Utilities crews will close the westbound lane of 62nd Avenue North between Westchester Boulevard and Sundown Drive North daily from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16 through Thursday, Sept. 30.

Crews are installing a 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer force main in front of Northside Christian School in St. Petersburg as part of Utilities’ Redundant Force Main Construction Project.

Traffic on 62nd Avenue North will be open to eastbound motorists during school drop-off and pick-up times on weekdays (7 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.). Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic in both directions from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and when workers are present on weekends. The westbound lane will be open from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. daily.

Motorists are advised to use Park Street North and 54th Avenue North as alternate routes to avoid delays, follow all directives from on-site personnel and traffic signs and exercise caution while driving through the area.
