Pinellas High School Students Honored During Virtual Art Awards

Pinellas County high school artists were honored during the annual Calyx Schenecker Art Infinitum Awards ceremony.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County high schools students were honored at a virtual art reception and awards presentation during the annual Calyx Schenecker Art Infinitum Awards ceremony.

The artwork of 61 high school students is currently on display in the St. Petersburg College Student Art Gallery.

The 2019-20 winners are:

First place - Mckayla Townsend, a senior at Gibbs High School, Artwork: “Kindreds”
Second place -Lindsay Neufarth, an 11th-grader at Countryside High, Artwork: “Selfie”
Third place - Charlotte Bayly, a 10th-grader at Clearwater High, Artwork: “Girl With A Goat”

Honorable mention were presented to the following students:

  • Kristen Zavoina, grade 12, East Lake High, Artwork: “Shy”
  • Vivienne Dumas, grade 12, St. Petersburg High, Artwork: “Windy Days”
  • Linda Price, grade nine, Lakewood High, Artwork: “2 Worlds Apart”
  • Sophia Hicks, grade 11, Lakewood High, Artwork: “Sophia's Ladder”

The awards are presented by the Clearwater Arts Alliance Inc., Pinellas Art Education Association, the Fine Arts Department of St. Petersburg College's Clearwater campus, and Col. Parker Schenecker in memory of his 16-year-old daughter, Calyx, who was killed along with her 13-year-old brother, Beau, on Jan. 27, 2011.
