Pinellas Jail Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus
A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office corrections employee has tested positive for the coronavirus.

CLEARWATER, FL — A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office corrections employee has tested positive for the coronavirus. This is the second member of the sheriff's office to test positive.
The sheriff's office was notified Wednesday. The employee is an inmate records specialist at the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater.
The specialist last worked at the jail on May 28 and had no symptoms or exposure while at work. During the specialist's days off, there was possible exposure to a health-care provider who works around coronavirus patients. Following this exposure, the specialist developed symptoms and was tested.

All staff are screened daily and any members who display symptoms will be tested and monitored.
Inmate records specialists have minimal to no contact with inmates. The specialist is recovering and will remain out of work for the foreseeable future.
