Pinellas Prepares to Open Cold Weather Shelters
The shelters will open as temperatures drop Wednesday night.

Pinellas County is bracing for chilly weather by readying its cold weather shelters to open Wednesday evening.
Shelters throughout the county will begin to open at 5 p.m., with most opening between 6 and 6:30 p.m. They will accept guests all night long Wednesday and are anticipated to close at 6 a.m. Thursday, according to an email to media from the county.
Shelter guests are provided a hot meal and a place to stay warm overnight, the email stated.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook report for Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Temperatures throughout much of the Tampa Bay area are expected to drop into the 30s and 40s with a wind chill making it seem colder.
