Pizza for Police Puts Smiles on Faces
The folks at Rizzoli's offered thanks and food to Clearwater's men and women in uniform Friday.

Clearwater, FL — In the wake of what has been described as the worst attack on law enforcement since Sept. 11, 2001, the folks at Rizzoli’s Pizza decided to do what they do best: whip up a few pies.
Those pies, complete with gooey cheese and all the toppings, were delivered to the Clearwater Police Department’s headquarters at noon on Friday.
“Inside the boxes were special hand-written messages about how they support, respect and love their police officers in Clearwater,” the department reported on Facebook.

“We have your back,” read one of the messages. That was one of the assembled officers’ favorites, the department noted.
“Our officers, civilians and entire police department were touched by the generous gesture of Rizzoli’s. Thank you, Rizzoli’s!”

Rizzoli’s gift came on the heels of a mass shooting of police officers in Dallas. Five officers were killed in the attack, which took place during a peaceful protest. Seven others and two civilians were injured.
Rizzoli’s Pizza is located at 1801 Sunset Point Road.
