CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Police arrested a 27-year-old Tampa man Tuesday after an officer spotted him riding a motorcycle with a 2-year-old boy tucked in front of him on the gas tank.
According to police, when the officer tried to pull Gerardo Javier Garcia over, he fled at a high rate of speed. Concerned for the well-being of the child, the officer did not attempt to follow Garcia who he said was driving recklessly.
Instead, he took down the license plate number and contacted Garcia by telephone. Garcia agreed to meet the officer that evening and was taken into custody.
