Police Say Man Tried To Cash In Stolen Lottery Ticket
Cashing in a winning Florida lottery scratch-off ticket proved to be bad luck for a Clearwater man.

CLEARWATER, FL — Cashing in a winning Florida lottery scratch-off ticket proved to be bad luck for a Clearwater man.
According to Clearwater Police, Herbert McClellan, 27, no address, was arrested after an alert employee at the Speedway convenience store at 32 Bay Esplanade realized he was trying to cash in a $30 winning ticket that had been stolen from the store.
Police said McClellan stole 13 scratch-off tickets from Speedway and then went back to the store to cash in the winning ticket. He was charged with petit theft ad dealing in stolen property.
