The Pub Crawler: Beef ‘O’ Brady’s
The Feather Sound edition of this national sports bar breaks the corporate chain.
Normally we don’t highlight chain restaurants for this because, well, they’re chain restaurants.
The word “chain” usually implies cookie-cutter styling and unoriginal concepts, all wrapped up in a sterile, corporate-owned package.
But is determined to break the chain.

Opened in August of 2010 in the old Durango Steakhouse location, owner John Volz decided to make his Beef’s different from all the others.
“We’re not like the other Beef ‘O’ Brady’s,” Volz said. “We have a different color scheme, we’re larger than most Beef’s, and we like to think we’re a little more upscale than most of the others.”

Indeed one of the first things you notice when you enter the restaurant are the colors, the upscale feel, and the fact that the place just doesn’t seem like a typical Beef ‘O’ Brady’s.
Another area this Beef’s differs from the rest is the beer list; with 20 beers on tap, this place carries nearly four times as many beers as a typical Beef ‘O’ Brady’s.
Throw in a full liquor bar and daily drink specials such as $4.99 pitchers of Bud Select and $2.75 wells, and you’ve got a regular party place.
A large, semi-circular bar sits in the center of the main room, with a long dining area running parallel to it on the left hand side. Bistro tables and booths fill the rest of the interior, and there is a good-sized patio fro smokers out back.
The menu is still typical of Beef’s, with burgers, sandwiches, and salads and of course their famous wings, but in this case, that’s a good thing.
Twenty TVs dot the interior, and there are theme nights three nights a week.
One of the more popular themes is Comedy-oke, where a musician/comedian plays along with the singers and heckles them as they perform.
Now that’s what I call breaking the chain.
