Signing Up For Vaccinations: What If You Don't Have A Computer?
Pinellas County is urging friends and family to help seniors who don't have internet or access to a computer to sign up for a vaccination.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Not every senior age 65 and over has internet access or a computer. For that matter, not every senior has transportation to a vaccination site.
Pinellas County is urging friends, family members and neighbors of Pinellas County seniors eligible to receive vaccines to reach out and help seniors register for the waiting list to receive a vaccine and provide rides to vaccination sites once the senior gets an appointment.
Pinellas County is using the vendor CDR Maguire Health and Medical to register eligible seniors for coronavirus vaccinations. Those wishing to help seniors with no internet access can create an account for the senior through the CDR Maguire patient portal and provide their own cell phone number or email address. The senior will be placed on a waiting list to receive a vaccine.

Residents can also create an account by calling 844-770-8548.
When an appointment is available, CDR Maguire send an email or text message to the person helping the senior giving the day, time and location of the appointment. The email may be titled noreply@salesforce.com. Be sure to check spam folders for this notification from CDR Maguire.

The appointment confirmation will have a QR code (pictured on the left), not a barcode (pictured on the right).

Appointment invitations are sent based on the order the senior was signed up in the patient portal.
With more than 100,000 seniors 65 and older already preregistered in Pinellas County, it may take weeks or even months before an appointment is available, depending on the supply of vaccines from the state.
According to Pinellas County Administrator Barry Burton, with last week's opening of a new vaccination site in Largo, the county now has five county-operated vaccination clinics with the ability to administer up to 19,000 shots a week.
About 20,000 people a week are receiving first and second doses in Pinellas County through the Florida Department of Health-Pinellas County's patient portal. Vaccines are given by Pinellas fire paramedics and DOH staff.
Residents are reminded to show up at their appointment on time, but not early, which can slow the drive-thru vaccination process.
Alternatives Locations For Vaccines
Pinellas County hospitals and health care centers are reaching out directly to patients to schedule vaccination appointments for eligible seniors based on availability.
Hospitals also have the discretion to vaccinate medically vulnerable patients under 65 based on physician prescriptions. Due to the limited supply, appointments are provided to the most critical patients first.
