Singleton's Bat Explodes in Thresher Loss
The Tampa Yankees won their fifth in a row Tuesday, defeating the Threshers, 11-9.

The Clearwater Threshers' fifteen hits were not enough as the Tampa Yankees held on for an 11-9 win Tuesday (June 21).
Jonathan Singleton almost single handedly brought the Threshers back from an 8-2 disadvantage. The 19 year old from Lakewood, Calif., was a triple short of hitting for the cycle. His three-run homer (4) in the fifth and two-run single in the sixth brought the Threshers to within one at 9-8 after six innings.
Singleton's name appears near the top of all the prospect lists. His numbers have not been impressive in the first half of the Florida State League. A night like this, 3-4 with a walk and six RBI's, is something for him to build on.
