St.Lucie Mets Embarrass Threshers 19-2
Leftfielder Brian Gump is the only Threshers pitcher not to allow a run.

The 19-2 loss at the hands of the St. Lucie Mets on Monday (July 18), was the Threshers fifth loss in six games and puts them four games below .500, last in the North Division of the Florida State League.
The Mets jumped all over All Star Jarred Cosart for seven runs on seven hits in the first inning giving him an early exit.
Tony Palica shut the Mets out for the second and third innings before giving up three runs on two singles, a double and a sacrifice fly in the fourth.

The Mets scored two in the fifith, three in the sixth, and four in the seventh off two more Threshers relievers before leftfielder Brain Gump would throw a scoreless eighth.
In total, the Mets' starters all had hits and seven of the nine had multi-hit games. Ironically, NY Mets, David Wright would be the only player not to register an RBI.

Leftfielder Juan Lagares had a huge night for the Mets, going 4 for 6 raising his batting average to .338, tops in the FSL. He was signed as a non drafted free agent in 2006 at the age of 17 from the Dominican Republic.
On deck: The Threshers (10-14) will try to rebound from this lopsided defeat when they face the red hot Mets (14-9) on Tuesday (July 19).
Need to Know: The GC Phillies rallied from two runs down to defeat the GC Yankees 3-2. Third basemen, Trey Ford's double scored two runs in the sixth inning paving the way to victory.
