Stormwater Pipe Cleaning Set For Clearwater Beach, Island Estates
The contractor will notify residents prior to working in front of their houses by use of a door hanger.

The city of Clearwater's Engineering Department has contracted with Shenandoah General Construction to perform stormwater pipe cleaning on Clearwater Beach and Island Estates.

The contractor will use large, jet vacuum trucks to remove barnacles and sand from the pipes. The trucks will be parked on the street for several hours at various locations on the beach. The contractor will notify residents prior to working in front of their houses by use of a door hanger.
Workers will need to access the seawall where the pipe discharges into the Intracoastal Waterway.

The city does not anticipate any excavation for this project. Work will start this month on Island Estates.
