Suncoast Hospice Names New Director of Spiritual Care

Clearwater—Suncoast Hospice has promoted Jim Andrews to director of spiritual care. Andrews is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all spiritual care practices throughout the agency.  He serves also as liaison to the diverse faith communities in Pinellas County.

Andrews has been a chaplain on Suncoast Hospice patient and family care teams for  15 years, most recently at Suncoast Hospice’s Care Center at Bayfront Medical Center,  St. Petersburg. In addition to his hospice duties, for 17 years he was an adjunct professor in world religious studies at the University of South Florida and Eckerd College.

Suncoast Hospice interdisciplinary care teams include chaplains, as well as medical professionals, psychosocial staff and volunteers.
