Tampa Bay Area 2015 Crash, DUI Statistics Released
Just in time for the kickoff of Spring Break season, the state has released preliminary figures for 2015.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Curious how many crashes occurred on Tampa Bay area roads last year? Wonder just how many people were charged with DUI?
Just in time for 2016’s Spring Break season, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has released preliminary statistics for 2015. Here is a breakdown of crashes and DUI citations by county, according to the state:
Pinellas County
- Crashes – 19,036
- Fatalities from crashes – 101
- Injuries from crashes – 10,976
- DUI citations from all agencies – 3,336
Hillsborough County
- Crashes – 25,956
- Fatalities from crashes – 196
- Injuries from crashes – 19,885
- DUI citations from all agencies – 4,101
Pasco County
- Crashes – 7,461
- Fatalities from crashes – 70
- Injuries from crashes – 6,775
- DUI citations from all agencies – 1,146
Manatee County
- Crashes – 5,717
- Fatalities from crashes – 54
- Injuries from crashes – 3,906
- DUI citations from all agencies – 876
Sarasota County
- Crashes – 5,852
- Fatalities from crashes – 57
- Injuries from crashes – 3,609
- DUI citations from all agencies – 942
While those figures represent the entire year of 2015, the state reports that during March 2015 – the peak month for Spring Break – there were more than 32,000 crashes reported throughout Florida. A total of more than 4,500 DUI citations were issued statewide during the month of March alone.
