Tampa Man Accused Of Raping 2 Teen Girls At Clearwater Beach

CLEARWATER — A 25-year-old Tampa man remains behind bars after being accused of giving alcohol and marijuana to two teen girls and then raping them.

Joshua Thomas Rooney of 14101 Bardsdale Lane faces two felony counts of sexual battery and misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Pinellas County jail in lieu of $300,300 bond.

According to police, on June 24, Rooney reportedly purchased alcohol and marijuana for two girls, age 16 and 17, on Clearwater Beach. After the girls were intoxicated, they say Rooney raped them.
