Teacher Accused of Having Sexual Relations With Teen

A 54-year-old Clearwater man faces lewd and lascivious battery charges after St. Petersburg Police say he had sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl.

Jeffrey Bohlander was arrested Wednesday at Lealman Intermediate School where he was a teacher. Detectives say the victim attends the same school, but was not one of Bohlander’s students.

Bohlander is accused of meeting the student at Coquina Key Park in St. Petersburg on multiple occasions over the winter break between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5. There, police say, the two had sexual relations in his car. Text message exchanges were also obtained by detectives. They have been described as “inappropriate in nature,” by the sheriff’s office.

Bohlander was booked into the Pinellas County Jail Wednesday and remained in custody Thursday.
