Threshers Shut Out 6-0 By St. Lucie

Trevor May gives up six runs in five innings as Threshers lose third in a row to the Mets.

The Clearwater Threshers will be glad to get away from the east coast of Florida after another drubbing on Tuesday (July 19).

The St. Lucie Mets (15-9) possibly inspired by the addition of NY Mets third baseman David Wright have taken no mercy on the Threshers, handing them their third successive loss and sixth of their last seven.

The Threshers managed just six hits over eight innings against the Mets starter Kyle Allen, who entered the game with an ERA over 5.00.

On the other hand, Trevor May was pounded for ten hits and six runs over just five innings.

Except for Jonathan Pettibone's brilliant pitching performance in his last outing, the Threshers big name starters have struggled. The four starts excluding Pettibone's have resulted in 21 runs in just 17 innings.

On deck: The Threshers (10-15) will try to gain some revenge in the final game of the series on Wednesday, in Port St. Lucie.

Need to Know: The GC Phillies record fell to 15-11 with an 8-5 loss to the GC Yankees on Tuesday. After falling behind six runs, the Phillies rallied for five in the sixth inning thanks to a two run homer by Trey Ford. It was the Scottsdale, AZ, natives second homer of the season and he also singled earlier in the game.
