Threshers Snap Three-Game Losing Streak
A four-run fifth inning powers Clearwater to a 4-2 victory over Lakeland.

The Clearwater Threshers won (4-2) for only the third time in the past 15 games Monday.
They were lead by 21-year-old right-hander Trevor May. The Kelso, Wash., native threw five complete innings, giving up one run with six strikeouts. May was followed by four different relievers, holding the Flying Tigers to just one more run.
In June, May has given up just five earned runs in 30 innings. May was chosen by the Phillies in the fourth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft.

Catcher Sebastian Valle's clutch double in the fifth inning, with two men out, produced the eventual winning run. It was the third successive hit with two men out in the inning.
Carlos Guillen, the 35-year-old Detroit Tigers veteran, played second base for the Flying Tigers on Monday. Guillen flied out twice and walked in three plate appearances. He is returning from knee surgery that has kept him out of the Tigers lineup since September.
