Toxic Fumes Force Evacuation Of Clearwater Condominiums
Residents have returned to their homes after a condominium complex at 2370 Jamaican St. was evacuated just before 7 a.m. Wednesday.
CLEARWATER, FL — Residents have returned to their homes after a condominium complex at 2370 Jamaican St. was evacuated just before 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews were called after residents complained of an odor.
Roofing construction has been taking place at the three-story structure, and the smell of glue or adhesive nature permeated a number of units. All the third-floor units were evacuated and many of the residents of the first and second floors also left their homes. Firefighters brought in large fans to dissipate the fumes.
