Trevor May Sensational In Threshers Win
Threshers defeat St. Lucie Mets on a two hit, 12 strikeout performance from Trevor May. And four Threshers are named to the Florida State League All Star game.
The Clearwater Threshers defeated the St. Lucie Mets 7-1 behind the supberb pitching of Trevor May Thursday (June 2).
The Threshers have been riding the coat tails of their starting pitching all year and May did nothing to change that pattern.
May, 21, from Kelso, Washington, is in his fourth year of pro ball in the Phillies organization. Starting with the Gulf Coast Phillies, then to the Lakewood BlueClaws and now in his second year with the Threshers.

Thursday he allowed only two hits and one run through eight complete innings. May struck-out 12 Mets batters which leaves him one shy of the league lead in that department.
Sabastian Valle the outstanding young Threshers catcher had a perfect 4-4 night at the plate. Valle, 20, saw his batting average climb to .357.

Valle's efforts rewarded him with an All-Star selection. Joining him from the Threshers are starting pitchers, Jonathan Pettibone and Julio Rodriguez. The fourth Thresher chosen for the June 18 classic is their top reliever Justin Friend.
The All-Star game will be hosted by Clearwater at Bright House Field.
On deck: The Threshers (34-20) and Mets (29-25) complete their four game series Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Rival Dunedin Blue Jays start a three game series Saturday.
