Tropical Storm Eta Leaves Behind Unwelcome Deposits Along Trail

Tropical Storm Eta's impact could still be seen in the tons of debris the storm deposited on local roads, trails and beaches.

CLEARWATER, FL — Long after Tropical Storm Eta moved on after making landfill on the Gulf coast Thursday, the storm's impact could still be seen in the tons of debris the storm deposited on local roads, trails and beaches.

The storm debris including trash, chunks of cement, rocks and vegetation temporarily forced the closure of the Courtney Campbell Causeway Pedestrian Trail.

Road crews were quickly dispatched Thursday and Friday to clean up the debris, allowing the trail to be reopened Friday afternoon. However, pedestrians and bicyclists are urged to use caution because a great deal of loose debris remains.
