Uber Driver Shot Passenger in Foot, Cops Say
An argument between two men turned violent on Sunday.

The Clearwater Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening along Mandalay Avenue.
According to the department, Steven Rayow, 74, stopped in the 400 block of Mandalay around 10 p.m. to pick up a passenger. The passenger, Marc Gregory, 60, and Rayow ended up in a verbal dispute that became physical, the department wrote in an email to media. At one point, police said, Gregory began choking Rayow.
During the scuffle, Rayow pulled out a gun from his waist area.

“As the struggle continued, the gun went off, striking the passenger in the foot,” the department’s email stated.
Rayow is a concealed weapons permit holder, the agency noted.

Gregory was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa for treatment of the gunshot wound.
No arrests have been made and further details are not yet available.
It is unclear what the dispute was about.
