The pop-up park is being designed in conjunction with the Park & Ride spring break initiative that offers free rides from Downtown Clearwater to Clearwater Beach from March 1 through April 30. The park will create a small plaza, using some of the parking lot and spaces to create a pleasant space for trolley users. Along with the ground murals on the parking lot surface, there will be picnic tables and games for the public to enjoy while waiting for their free ride to Clearwater Beach.
The Old Clearwater City Hall parking lot is the only location in Downtown Clearwater to board the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority Trolley and the Jolley Trolley free rides that travel to and from Clearwater Beach during spring break.
The pop-up park is another example of the public art programs and events occurring in Downtown Clearwater. One block from the Old Clearwater City Hall parking lot, the city of Clearwater and the Dalí Museum are presenting theDreams of Dalí, a free virtual reality exhibit at Second Century Studios, 331 Cleveland St.
