Wrong-Way Driver Arrested in Clearwater
Police say he was going south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19.

A 28-year-old Bellair Bluffs man was arrested in Clearwater Sunday morning when police say he was spotted going the wrong way on U.S. 19.
The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. near the Sunset Point Road intersection, Clearwater Police officials said on their Facebook page.
“Officer Nugent was able to get him pulled over before one of those horrific wrong-way crashes could occur,” the department wrote on the page.

Nicholas Keeble was charged with DUI. He was later released from the Pinellas County Jail on his own recognizance.
There have been a number of fatal wrong-way crashes in recent weeks on Bay area roads. A Monday morning crash on Interstate 75 claimed the life of a woman.
