Yankees Drop Threshers 10-3
Pitcher Josh Romanski makes his second masterful start against the Threshers in less than two weeks.

The Tampa Yankees broke open a close game with four runs in the eighth on their way to a 10-3 victory over the Clearwater Threshers on Monday.
Threshers starter Brody Colvin left the game in the sixth after giving up four runs on nine hits. The Phillies' seventh-round pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft saw his ERA climb to 4.98 on the season.
For the second game in less than two weeks at Bright House Field, the Yankees' Josh Romanski was the difference. The 6-foot left-hander went seven innings allowing only two earned runs. On June 7, he shut out the Threshers in a six-inning outing.

The Yankees signed Romanski after the Milwaukee Brewers released him following his Tommy John surgery.
Jeremy Barnes hit a two-run homer, his third of the year. Catcher Sebastian Valle returned to the lineup and recorded a base hit, one of only eight on the night for the Threshers.

On deck: Clearwater (39-29) and Tampa (36-32) resume their series at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bright House Field before traveling to Tampa and completing the first half of the Florida State League schedule Wednesday.
Need to know: The Gulf Coast Phillies opened the season on Monday defeating the Tigers 6-5. Bernardo Solarte went 2-4 with a three-run homer. The 19-year-old was signed as a nondrafted free agent in 2008 by the Phillies.
