CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Gas System will install energy-efficient natural gas to service 11 homes in the Yorkshire at Countryside’s new construction project in Clearwater near Summerdale Drive.

This Clearwater Gas and Jay-Gee Development partnership will also include the installation of energy-efficient gas tankless water heaters, gas ranges and gas dryers in each single-family home. Construction is planned to begin this winter.

A recent American Gas Association study reveals the average total savings per year for households that use natural gas for tankless water heating, cooking and drying clothes equals $879, compared to homes using electricity for typical household appliances.

“Many homeowners prefer natural gas appliances because of the substantial savings compared to electric appliances,” said Brian Langille, assistant director of Clearwater Gas System.

Clearwater Gas provides natural and propane gas service to more than 29,000 residential and commercial customers in a 330-square-mile service territory within Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties.
