• Can capping the bottom muck help heal Indian River Lagoon? (floridatoday.com) — A $41 million sand-capping project is underway beside Cocoa Beach's golf course to bury decades of polluted "muck" on the Banana River Lagoon floor and improve water quality. Funded largely by state and county grants, the work will continue through fall 2027, testing whether a one-foot layer of clean sand can restore seagrass, reduce odors, and cut fish kills near the city.
• SpaceX: No More Starlink Launches Aboard Falcon 9 From The Cape (talkoftitusville.com) — SpaceX has flown its final Starlink mission from Cape Canaveral on a Falcon 9, ending a 263-for-263 run of successful Starlink launches from Florida's Space Coast. Future Starlink flights from here are slated to move to Starship once that new rocket begins flying from Kennedy Space Center, a shift closely watched by many Cocoa Beach–area space fans.
