<a href="https://southfloridasymphony.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">South Florida Symphony Orchestra’s</a>(SFSO’s) popular <a href="https://southfloridasymphony.org/summer-with-the-symphony/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Summer with the Symphony</a> chamber music series returns to bring cool sounds to sultry summer nights! Enjoy inviting, intimate candlelit concerts in Coral Gables including special meet-and-greet receptions with the musicians after each concert.
May’s “Whispering Waters” shimmer with warmth and light. Take in Hummel’s radiant Piano Quintet, Op. 87 and Schubert’s beloved Piano Quintet in A major, “Trout” featuring luminous textures, playful exchanges, and melodies that float, making for a breezy evening that glows from within. The concert features musicians Huifang Chen (violin), Brandon Wu (viola), Claudio Jaffe (cello), Amy Nickler (bass), and Tao Lin (piano) who will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ (3010 De Soto Blvd., Coral Gables).
From sold-out masterworks performances to accompanying today’s musicians such as Natalie Merchant and Arrival from Sweden: The Music of ABBA to performing modern musical scores including Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and Back to the Future, featuring the iconic films screened live with audio and musical accompaniment, South Florida’s largest symphonic orchestra is continuing its journey of excellence inspiring audiences of all ages and musical genres. 
The series is presented under the artistic direction of Sebrina María Alfonso, music director of South Florida Symphony Orchestra and curated by SFSO pianist Catherine Lan. Summer with the Symphony 2026 is presented with the support of the City of Coral Gables, Lenore Nolan Ryan World Class Catering &amp; Cooking School, OutClique (Media Sponsor), Robert Smith, and The Windfall Fund.

South Florida Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Chamber Music Series – Hummel & Schubert

<a href="https://www.orchestramiami.org/saturdays-at-trinity" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Orchestra Miami</a> is excited to partner with the Music Ministry of <a href="https://www.trinitymiami.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Trinity Episcopal Cathedra</a>l to create the Saturdays at Trinity
Series in their historic sanctuary in Downtown Miami. These concerts will feature music performed by soloists from Orchestra Miami along with the finest singers in South Florida.
The series, performed on Saturdays at 7 PM, will explore the lush and opulent music of the Art Nouveau era (roughly 1885 to the 1930's). This period is known for its opulence, lushness and eclecticism- music that was often theatrical, grandly scaled, and adorned with complex harmonies.
Our exploration of the Art Nouveau era begins in Italy, where we discover stile floreale, or "floral style" music. The music of this era pushed boundaries and created a lush sound as it expanded the musical ideals of the early 1900's.
The program includes Il Tramonto, a breathtaking and dramatic lyric poem/cantata composed by Ottorino Respighi for string quartet and mezzo-soprano, Respighi’s gorgeous, rarely heard Piano Quintet in F Minor. The program also explores some of the lesser-known works of one of Italy’s most famous composers, Giacomo Puccini, Crisantemi for string quartet and some of his art songs. Lastly the program ends with some of Italy’s sunniest works, canzoni Napoltane by Giorgio Tosti.
The performers include some of Orchestra Miami’s finest musicians- Huifang Chen and Dale Sandvold on the violin, Gregory Falkenstein on the viola and Susan Bergeron on cello- along with Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi on the piano. Also featured are special guests Metropolitan Opera Grand Finalist Award winner, mezzo-soprano Maggie Reneé and frequent Orchestra Miami collaborator, tenor Gerardo Ortega.
Admission is on a Pay-What-You-Wish basis starting at just $5, or you can reserve a front row seat for just $30! You are invited to join a wine and bubbly reception with the artists following the performance. 
Saturday, May 16, 2026, 7 PM at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 464 NE 16 Street, Miami, 33132 in downtown Miami. Free parking is available at the church (tell the attendant you are there for the concert) or Pay-by-Phone street parking is available. Parking is also available in the Omni Garage or take the Metro Mover to the Omni Station. 
The Saturdays at Trinity series is generously sponsored by a grant from the Miami DDA. The next two concerts are La Musique Nouvelle, Art Nouveau in France on Saturday, June 13th, and Neue Musik, the music of the Art Nouveau in Germany and Austria on July 11th. The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) under the artistic direction of Eriberto Jimenez, will present Le Corsaire Suite. This enchanting ballet is based on Lord Byron’s epic poem written in 1814, a romantic story of pirates, maidens, slave merchants, and pashas. 

The Suite is a compilation of the most beloved scenes from the full-length ballet, including:

Pas d’Esclave,
Grand Pas de Trois des Odalisques
Le Corsaire Pas de Deux
&amp; More

The first performance of Le Corsaire as a ballet was in 1837 at the King's Theatre in London, with choreography by François Albert and music by Nicholas Bochsa. The ballet was later reworked by Joseph Mazilier, whose version premiered in 1856 with music by Adolphe Adam at the Paris Opera, achieving unexpected success. In 1858, Jules Perrot adapted the story again, adding several new dances later on choreographer Marius Petipa created several versions between 1863 and 1899.

Blending wine education with a game-show format, the event offers a fun and approachable way to explore wine through guided tasting, storytelling and friendly competition. Guests will sample a curated flight of three mystery wines, along with a welcome drink, while participating in a multiple-choice tasting game designed for all experience levels.
Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to test their palate, learn about each wine’s origin and characteristics, and compete for prizes. A specially curated diner menu will also be available for purchase to complement the tasting experience.
