Through October 31, fertilizer usage is prohibited as per an ordinance that was passed on April 20 by the Miami-Dade County Commission.
This ordinance comes as one of the key recommendations from the 2020 Biscayne Bay Task Force Report to improve the health of Biscayne Bay, as fertilizer runoff was shown to be one of the top contributors to last year’s fish kill in Biscayne Bay.
