Despite our year-round sunny weather, pristine beaches and turquoise waters, the Miami area is apparently lousy for love.

MIAMI, FL — If you're wondering why you're having such a hard time meeting that special someone, it may not be your fault. Despite our year-round sunny weather, pristine beaches and turquoise waters, the Miami area is apparently lousy for love. Personal finance website WalletHub on Monday ranked the Magic City 49th overall out of 182 U.S. cities.

It breaks our lonely hearts to even tell you about Fort Lauderdale, Hialeah and Pembroke Pines.

"To help America’s singles find love, WalletHub’s analysts compared more than 180 U.S. cities across 32 key indicators of dating-friendliness. Our data set ranges from share of single population to number of online dating opportunities to nightlife options per capita," WalletHub penned in its 2017’s Best & Worst Cities for Singles.

While there may not be much love to go around in Miami, Fort Lauderdale ranked even worse in 86th place, while Hialeah and Pembroke Pines were among the absolute most loveless cities at 179th and 180th positions. The only worse U.S. cities for love were Brownsville, Texas at 181st place and South Burlington, Vermont which came in dead last at 182nd place.

Miami ranked eighth for fun and recreation but 169th for online dating opportunities, 168th for the highest restaurant meal costs and 173rd for economics, which includes such things as the cost of beauty salons, cocktails, meals for two, median annual household incomes, housing affordability and job growth among other factors.
