Mercedes-Driving Suspect Nabbed By Police
Coral Gables Police believe they found the man who committed a recent home invasion sitting in jail on an unrelated offense.

CORAL GABLES, FL — Police believe they have identified the gun-wielding bandit who fled a Coral Gables home invasion in a Mercedes. Forty-eight-year-old Jorge Iran Montero was already incarcerated on an unrelated offense and was expected to be charged with the July 20 armed robbery of a Coral Gables couple. The robbery occurred at about 8:45 p.m. in a home in the 800 block of Navarre Avenue.
Officer Kelly Denham of the Coral Gables Police Department told Patch on Monday that Iran Montero was identified through a tip to Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers after police released a surveillance image of the suspect last week. "Detectives believe the victims were followed from a local restaurant," Denham explained.
After robbing the couple, Iran Montero is accused of fleeing the scene in a Mercedes.
