Miami-Dade County To Chlorinate Drinking Water

November 4 through November 17, 2019, the Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department (WASD), will temporarily change its method of chlorination.

From November 4 through November 17, 2019, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD), which supplies the drinking water to Coral Gables homes and businesses, will temporarily change its method of chlorination at its regional water treatment facilities. This treatment will provide a stronger disinfection and bleaching process than the normally used at the water plants.

During this period, consumers may experience unusual chlorine taste or odor in the tap water. However, these temporary conditions will not cause any adverse health effects.
