After a gritty shutout of Keystone Heights, coaches say the defense is strong while the offense is still developing, and back-to-back victories could set up a confident finish to the regular season.
   

• Downpour unable to dampen school's plans (palatkadailynews.com) — Students and families at Crescent City Junior-Senior High School saw a soggy start to Oct. 7 when heavy rain flooded older parts of campus, but classes continued and officials say students remained safe. Staff routed kids through dry hallways, some parents chose early pickup, and administrators emphasized that ongoing state-funded renovations and new buildings should finally end these long-standing water issues.
