1 Arrested After Dunedin Causeway Crash

Three people were injured in the Tuesday night crash, including a bicyclist.

Dunedin, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday evening crash that left two motorists and a bicyclist injured.

According to the agency, Matthew Collman, 45, was heading west on Causeway Boulevard, just east of the drawbridge, around 7:14 p.m. Collman’s 2016 Honda Odyssey crossed the centerline, sideswiping a Ford F-150 driven by Joseph Harris, 27, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

Collman’s van struck a flatbed trailer Harris was towing. After striking the trailer, the Odyssey hit a guard rail, sending
debris flying. The debris hit Tanya Dubay, 44, who was riding a bicycle heading west on the south side of Causeway Boulevard, the email said.

The Odyssey then struck the guard rail a second time.

Deputies say Harris was taken to Mease Countryside with minor injuries. Dubay was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Collman suffered minor injuries, but was taken to the Pinellas County Jail. Deputies say he’s been charged with two felony counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury. Speed, the sheriff’s office noted, does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
