6 Arrested After Bomb Squad Called to Dunedin Park
Two 'destructive devices' were found in the Louis A. Vanech Recreation Complex.

Six teenagers face criminal charges after Pinellas County deputies say they detonated an “explosive device” near the racquetball courts at Dunedin’s Louis A. Vanech Recreation Complex.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, when deputies received a call about people in the 3051 Garrison Road park after hours. When deputies arrived, they began canvassing the area and heard an explosion near the racquetball courts. As they continued to canvass, they found a second device, an email to media from the sheriff’s office stated.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s bomb squad was able to respond to the park and detonate the second device without incident, the Pinellas email stated.
