• Dunedin Bans Motorized Watercraft Launches From Causeway Shoreline (myq105.com) — Dunedin commissioners have permanently banned launching or landing motorized watercraft from about 1,000 feet of shoreline along the south side of the Causeway, affecting how locals use this popular spot. Officials cited safety issues, parking and trash problems, and environmental concerns after hurricanes forced a temporary closure that improved seagrass and wildlife, though Jet Skis can still operate in surrounding waters.
   

• Pinellas unveils plan to close 7 schools, combine several others (tampabay.com) — Pinellas County's new school consolidation plan could change attendance zones for Dunedin Elementary, meaning some local families may be reassigned to different schools in coming years. The proposal would close seven schools, convert others to magnets or K-8s, and redraw multiple boundaries to save money and add popular programs, with public meetings scheduled before an October school board vote.
   

• Could Yesavage return to aid Blue Jays' playoff push? (mlb.com) — Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage is ramping up his rehab at the team's complex in Dunedin, throwing 30 pitches in a simulated outing as he eyes a late-season return.
