Toastmaster Contest Winners Move to Next Level

Four members of the Donoghue-Dunedin Toastmasters Club have won slots to represent the club at an area-wide public speaking and table topics contest.

At the club level contest Jan. 29, Doug Craft of Palm Harbor and Kate Chamberlin of Clearwater won 1st and 2nd places respectively in the seven-minute prepared speech contests. Rob Tuttle of Dunedin and Nana Westmark of Clearwater won 1st and 2nd places respectively in the two minute table topics (extemporaneous speaking) competition. Under new rules of the contests this year, both the winner and runner-up in each contest advance to the next level of competition.  All four will compete against winners and runner-ups of four other clubs in Area 21 at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N Osceola. The public is invited.

The contestants are striving to work their way through area, division and district contests for a right to compete in the International contest in Cincinnati, OH, in August.
