- Dunedin Parks & Recreation will host an Arbor Day Tree Give-Away event on April 9 at the Achieva Credit Union Corporate Headquarters beginning at 8:00 AM. Dunedin residents with proof of residency will receive two 3-gallon trees, while supplies last. This event is a contact-less drive-through. Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicle as they drive through to pick up their trees from city staff. Read the full article to see what tree types will be available. (Dunedin Patch)
- Salty Paws will host a book signing with the author of "A Beagle Named Carol," Cathy Schenkelberg, on April 9 between 12:00 and 3:00 PM. She was inspired to write the children's book while living in Ireland. This Irish Dog Tale pays homage to all sweet beagles who are rescued and given second chances at life to find love and magical adventures. Schenkelberg's premier children's book will be followed by a series of many romps through the Irish countryside. Be sure to bring your furry friends along when you stop by to get a copy of her book for some dog-friendly ice cream! (Facebook | Salty Paws)
- Jennifer Galley, the Chief Operations Officer of Achieva Credit Union, is using her art skills to show appreciation for employees. Every month she hands out new custom-made gifts such as personalized notebooks, mugs, t-shirts, and more. Galley remembers greeting guests at Achieva when she was just a teenager working as a teller. It was only supposed to be a temporary job until she graduated college as she planned on becoming an art teacher. Now, however, Galley is an inspiration to the 300 employees she oversees across 22 bank branches. Read the full article to learn more about her story and what she does for her employees.
