Revolutionary Impressions: Create Your Own Stamps Workshop

Step into the world of 18th-century correspondence and discover how messages were written, sealed, and shared during the Revolutionary era.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will carve their own custom rubber stamp while exploring the tools and traditions of colonial stationery—from quill pens and ink to wax seals and personal marks used to leave a lasting impression. Inspired by writing practices of the 18th century, this program offers a creative glimpse into the role communication played during the American Revolution.

Part of our Freedom in Focus: Florida’s Legacy of Liberty for America 250 exhibit, this workshop connects guests to the everyday details that shaped how ideas, news, and identity were shared in early America.
