City Of Dunedin Announces Douglas Avenue Pond Stormwater Project

The Osprey Loop of Hammock Park area will be affected beginning on Jan. 21.

The City of Dunedin is pleased to announce the upcoming project at the Douglas Avenue Pond, located at 350 Buena Vista Drive North. This pond is located to the west of the boardwalk at the Osprey Loop and Disc Golf Course of Hammock Park (formerly known as Youth Guild Park). The purpose of the project is to return the stormwater pond to as-built conditions. The Osprey Loop of Hammock Park area will be affected beginning on January 21st with construction slated to begin on January 26th, and will take approximately six weeks to complete.

The Osprey Loop of Hammock Park area will be affected beginning on January 21st as follows:

  • The park shall remain open the entire duration of the project for pedestrian use.
  • The parking lot located at Osprey Loop of Hammock Park will be closed; all cars will be directed to utilize the main parking area at Hammock Park.
    • Access to the Osprey Loop of Hammock Park shall be through the connector trail from the main parking area of Hammock Park.
  • The boardwalk will be closed.
  • Hole 8 and 9 of the Disc Golf Course will be closed.
  • Access to the Pinellas Trail from Douglas Avenue will remain open. Two spotters shall be present during construction to ensure the safety of all pedestrians and cyclists. Please be mindful of equipment at all times for your safety.
