Pinellas Sheriff’s deputies discovered Leanna Horan lying in a pool of blood after Christopher Horan approached an officer with the Navicent Health Police Department in the parking lot of Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon and said he wanted to turn himself in.
He told detectives he stabbed his sister during an argument. Horan apparently had been living with his sister. He said he wanted to go out drinking that evening and she did not want him to leave. Detectives said Leanna Horan was stabbed more than 20 times in the head, neck and back with multiple knives. One knife found at the scene had been used with so much force that it bent. Horan admitted to stabbing his sister "too many times" and then driving her car to Georgia.

His family said Horan has a history of mental problems. However, the sheriff's office has no record of him being taken into custody due to mental health issues. He does have minor offenses for driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and trespassing, Gualtieri said.
