Dunedin Parks & Recreation To Offer Group Swim Lessons
Group swim lessons begin Monday, June 6th for kids six months and older at Highlander Pool in Dunedin.
DUNEDIN, FL — Dunedin Parks & Recreation will offer group swim lessons beginning Monday, June 6th for kids six months and older at Highlander Pool.
Details are as follows:
- Swim Levels:
- Parent & Child (6 months-3 years): Play & splash with your child as you help them become comfortable in the water.
- Little Guppies (3-4 years): Your child will explore the water independently as they learn the fundamentals of swimming.
- Level 1 (4+ years): Learn to submerge the face, begin arm and leg motions and experience buoyancy.
- Level 2 (4+ years): Begin locomotive skills by exploring arm and leg movements that will become strokes in the future. Must be able to float for 5 seconds unassisted.
- Level 3 (4+ years): Refine the front crawl and be introduced to the backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
- Level 4-6 (4+ years): All strokes are refined and swimmers develop endurance and confidence.
- 2-Week Sessions: (Monday-Wednesday. Times vary between 4:30-6:00pm depending on swim level)
- Session 1: June 6-15
- Session 2: June 20-29
- Session 3: July 11-20
- Session 4: July 25-August 3
- Session 5: August 15-24
- Session 6: August 29-September 7
- Fees:
- $40/session (with Rec Card)
- $60/session (without Rec Card)
Private lessons and adaptive swim lessons are also available.
