Public Workshop: Land Management Plan for Honeymoon Island State Park

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection Division of Recreation and Parks is holding a public workshop to discuss a proposed amendment to the land-management plan for Honeymoon Island State Park. The amendment proposes developing 17.5 acres east of the southern beach-area parking lot into a family camping area. This design includes up to 45 campsites to accommodate recreational vehicles, pop-up campers, and tents and would include paved or stabilized roads, bath houses, picnic tables, grills, connections for water and electrical service, and other amenities. The proposed camping area is partly located within the footprint of an existing picnic area.
